Fried Chicken Stripes Philosophy

Teaching Moment .... Fried Chicken Stripes.
Last Monday after swimming lesson, I bought fried chicken stripes for the girls to eat as snack in the car.  When I looked back and saw Kadence's holding a chicken stripe, it looked very dry.

Mommy : "Kadence, that looks so dry, it doesn't taste good ar:

Kadence :"You cannot just look at the outside, mommy.  You have to look at the inside.  Just like looking at people!".

.....Wow!  I wasn't prepared for this kind of response.

Mommy : "Tell me more about it, Kadence."

Kadence : "Some people treat you so good but actually they are bad inside, they just want to trick you."

Mommy : "Where did you learn that? Who told you that?"

Kadence : "I learnt that from Hongkong TV"

....hahaha....

Mommy : "That's true just like our Heavenly Father, He doesn't just look at our outside, He sees our inside too.  Like your teacher & parents, sometimes, we are mean to you because you did something wrong but inside, we really did it for your good. We shouldn't judge people just by their appearance."

Teaching Moment.

Last week BSF we study about presecution, so this morning after Kadence & I prayed for the missionaries, I told her about Leeling was kicked out by the government in Taji.

Kadence asked me why the government did that, I told her that they don't like a lot of people believe in Jesus that will mess up their country.  Kadence said that's not called messing up, that's call helping.  Then I link it with how Jesus was treated, rejected and killed by the Jews because they didn't know/believe HIM and they didn't want Jesus to mess up their country.

Thank you Holy Spirit to give me and teach me how to build up Kadence's faith.  Ever since Kadence get into this charter school, her faith is being challenge daily when she tries to share with her little friends.  Thanks God that she still can stand firm and please join me to continue to pray for her faith will continue to grow.

08-09-2009 Day 5 Paradise Cove

It has been a struggle for us because everybody said Polynesian Cultural Center is a must see place and they have the best Polynesian show in Hawaii.  After looking at their website and do some researches, we found that this cultural center is operated by Mormons.  All their income is to support the Mormons missionaries.  I had tried to make up/think of so many reasons to support us to go however, at last we decided to visit the 2nd best "Paradise Cove".  Anyway it is just couple hours of pleasure, we preferred to have peaceful hearts than quilty feelings afterwards.

This morning we went to a free breakfast together with a timeshare presentation.  After the presentation, we got 4 free tickets to Paradise Cove.  However, we spent almost 4 hours in that because my fault, my fault that I asked a lot of questions.  We then had lunch at Waikiki beach area with Japanese food.

We took the free shuttle ride to Paradise Cove and we had a lot of funs there.  We saw a very pretty sunset on the beach and good shows.  The girls did a some crafts and they enjoyed very much.

08/08/2009 Honolulu, HI Day 4

At the beginning, we planned to get up early and head to Hanauma Bay.  However, after everybody were ready to leave the hotel door, it was already 8:00am.  I dropped by the hotel activities center and talked to the lady.  She was very discouraging, she said it's too late to go to Hanauma Bay.  She will suggest we go tomorrow and join her tour at 7:30am.  I asked if we can go by bus, she said it took almost 1.5 hours bus ride and by the time we get there.  There will be too many people and the kids couldn't see much fish because the fishes are scared away by people already.  Then I asked if we can go by taxi, she said it's not efficient.  It costs too much and we cannot catch another taxi back to hotel.  I am glad that I did my research well before I go to Hawaii.  I just want a second opinion to confirm what I read was right.

We decided to go anyway, so Keith went to get togo breakfast and we hopped on a taxi.  It's so amazing that the taxi driver is from Hong Kong too and we chatted a lot.  We got there around 9am, the bay wasn't crowded.  We had to pay $15 to rent 3 lifevests and began to swim and snorkle.  The girls were not very into the snorkling as they just wanted to play sand on the beach side.  We put the lifevest on them then Keith &  I went to snorkle.  We saw a lot of fishes and they were pretty big in size.  The girls also saw some fishes where they could stand.  They were excited and we all had a very good day.  We all got SUN BURN!!!

Around 2:30pm, we decided to leave and thanks God that there was a van offering $5 each to ride back to Waikiki.  That's how we get back to our hotel.  After a light lunch at the hotel room, we rest a while then head out to Hilton Village.  We again took bus and arrived there in no time.  Hilton is a very nice place and looks like a tiny zoo.  We were very relax and had fun in walking around.

Finally, we had our dinner at Shokudo near to Ala Moana shopping center.  The food is good and special.

08-07-2009 Honolulu Day 3

Also our hotel unit is very spacious, the girls always use the sofa bed to practice their gymnastic skill.
